I study water conflict, governance, and collaboration in the US West using community-based participatory methods to open the door for more compassionate, sustainable, and ethical watershed management. These methods include human ecology mapping and other creative placemaking practices, which I document for COLLAGE, a process-centered research collaborative.

At Portland State University, I am a PhD candidate in the Cantor Lab in Geography, part of the School of Earth, Environment and Society in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. I also conduct research linked to on-the-ground practice as a senior fellow at the National Policy Consensus Center, part of the Hatfield School of Government in the College of Urban and Public Affairs.
